June is here, school’s out, and summer has officially arrived. While you’re planning barbecues and beach days, your air conditioner is about to become the MVP of your household. But is it ready?
Before your AC works overtime, make sure it’s in peak condition—especially if you haven’t had it looked at yet this year. A bit of prep now can save you a lot of sweat, stress, and repair bills later.
Summer AC Checklist:
Test your system early
Let it run on a warm day. Do you notice weak airflow, strange noises, or inconsistent cooling? These are signs to call in a pro before it gets worse.
Check your filter (again!)
Hot weather = more AC use = more clogged filters. A clean filter keeps your system running efficiently and your indoor air healthier.
Look for signs of wear
Older systems can struggle in extreme heat. If your AC has needed frequent repairs or is more than 10–15 years old, now might be the time to talk about replacement options.
Clean up around your outdoor unit
Leaves, sticks, and overgrown shrubs can block airflow and make your system work harder. Clear at least two feet around it for best performance.
